    ID issued by Werfer-Ausbildungs-Regiment 2

This ID document is a copy (Abschrift) of the Soldbuch entries. It was issued on July 17, 1945 by Lt.Wagner, the last battery-commander of 1./Werfer-Ausbildungs-Regiment 2. (note; the stamp is from the parent unit Werfer-Ers.-u. Ausb.-Abteilung 4).

The ID is for Leutnant Apitz. Apitz was transferred to Werfer-Ausb.-Rgt2 in end of Mai 45. There he was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in silver on May 31, 1945.

Here is the battalion report that mentions the action that led to the award of the EKI to Lt Apitz.

He commanded a successful raid to take prisoners on June 25, 1944 near Orvieto, Italy. His unit, AA356, was attached to the 1. Fallschirm-Korps
