    Help with KM soldbuch

    I am not good with reading soldbuchs... maybe someone could help with a short
    overview. Also on page 4 there are a award, and can not read with one.
    It have a double frontcover


    Serving with marine artillery?
    There are writing on most pages. It is from a lot that also inc. the mans workbooks
    and some postwar papers.

      It looks like he served in Greece for a time if the Feldpost Numbers are anything to go by.

        It looks like he may have been transferred to the Heer in late 1944... On page 24 it shows he was in Grenadier Regiment 689 on September 13, which was a part of the newly reformed 246. Volks-Grenadier Division. If this is true then he probably fought in the Ardennes Offense... Quite a change of scenery compared to tropics of Greece!

        Also on page 38 there is a US POW number - 31G 757,258

        I don't see any entries past late 1944, so it is possible he was captured in the Ardennes region.

              The grenade-batch on his sleeve sais that he was a crewman of a light AA-gun.
              Also interesting is the entry on the first page which alows him to wear a pistol on and off duty. Nice soldbuch!
