    Ersatz Soldbuch Luftwaffe General

    I posted this on another site a few years ago .....interesting to note that most internet sites do not show half the awards noted on this document...

    I note;

    Spange for EK 2 29/9/39<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
    EK1 3/6/1940<o></o>
    Frontflugspange for Kampfflieger in bronze 29/4/1941and silver 21/6/1942<o></o>
    Spange der Kroat Legion 16/5/1942<o></o>
    Winter war medal 2/9/1942<o></o>
    Rumanian medal against communism <o></o>
    DkiG 21/8/1942<o></o>
    Krim Sheild 15/3/1943<o></o>
    Komturkreuz der Rumänischen Krone July 1944

    Question, whats the
    Spange der Kroat Legion 16/5/1942 and would this document replace his "normal" soldbuch?

    also welcome any other photos of him, cheers, Paul<o></o>

    Remember what I said yesterday regarding postwar replacement Soldbücher when they were handed in as PoW!

    Chances are this did replace his Soldbuch while in the camp....of course no idea whether he got his original back or not!

        Here's an example of the award on Helmut Weitze's site.

        In Dave Littlejohn's books on "Foreign Legions of the Third Reich", he refres to this as the Croation "Air Legion" Badge. It was worn on the left breast in metal form for Germans, with Croation's wearing it on their right arm in cloth.

            And here he is in the rank lists under Generalmajor.
