All,
I wanted to let everybody know that thread was removed, and why.

As many collectors noted, without some form of protection on those photos, it IS an open invitation to low-life forger scum of some of the most desirable - and expensive - items one can imagine. There's a fair chance I've removed it too late anyways...

I'm going to contact Clevischi by PM, and if it his wish to openly post, we will bring the thread back to life. I'll also discuss with my fellow forum mods.

Please don't get mad - this isn't done lightly. I truly have everybody's best interests in mind (I hope) and this isn't irreversible or anything like that.

I guess, like me, you and the main players here have already safely downloaded this info for future reference as I am sure was the intent of the poster.

I do like the Belsen doc (Local interest).

I have no intent to make my own but am grateful of the fact someone was prepared to share that info.

Taking down the post will not deter the fraudster in the least but it will ensure that fellow collectors will be stung in future, a few wiggly lines or a water mark in this day and age is of no use. A straight forward statement of copyright will only deter the law abiding majority.

Its already out there (WWW).

Not me. I don't collect these. If some faker or fraud offers them, I'm not losing any money. But new collectors might get taken in.

You're probably right. But I thought I'd at least TRY. So far, I haven't heard back from Clevischi. Whatever he wants to do - watermark, or leave as-is, I'll go with it.

Thank you to Clevischi for getting in touch with me, and Alex for helping him with a watermark program.

I know it's not fail-safe and foolproof, but even if we save 2 or 3 people from being duped, it's worth it to me.
