    Information about an unit

Find here the page of units in which an Obergefreiter served trought the war, I'm interested in every info that could be given about the last one, Pz.Jäg.Kp. 33 (H), composition, main unit to which it was subordinate, combats, everything. Wehrpass has a wonderfull campaign page regarding his combats in the Krimea, but no info far away of August 18th, 1.944 and all that says about its combat from April 18th, 1.944 till the previously mentioned date is that was with the 72 I.D.

    Thanks

    Hello Angel:
I read in the Soldbuch a continous service in Pz.Jg/Abt. 72 until 12.May 1944. Apparently due to a change in unit designation to "mot.z." one line was skipped. But my understanding of the entries is that as of 13.may 1944 he was assigned to Pz.Jg.Ers. und Ausb. Abt. 33. He stayed in different companies of that Abteilung to end up in the small unit you are most interested in (Pz.Jg.Kp.(H) 33.
While I have no information on that company one should note the date of the soldiers assignment to it (Feb. 1945) This was just after the soviet offensive in Poland when many replacement /training units were ordered to form combat units . These often retained a part of the parent unit designation (here 33) .
The (H) most likely stands for "Heer" to establish affiliation to the army. Other services such as LW, KM etc formed anti-tank units also in the last months of the war.

Thanks Bernhard, other people has told me that the H means Hertzer, but I wonder why you formed a small unit as a company with armoured vehicles and untrained personal from normal Panzerjäger unit. I hope we can find some more info about this ad hoc units.

      Cheers
