    Soldbuch Festung Danzig

    i got this a while nothing special Willi Kurds was born on 12/6/1904 in Rixdorf since 1920 Neukölln in a suburb of Berlin. was by profession schlosser and was only in 1945 called for up for service in the 5/Bau pioneer Ausbildung Battalion 3 after some research I learned that the battalion was captured in the Halbinsel hell by the Russians.

    He might have been lucky. Often soldbücher of Germans who were captured by the Russians had a Russian translation of their name on the first inner page.
    On the other hand the Russians did not seem to care about denazification.

    I think your guy might well have escaped to the western Allies somehow. I.m.o. you soldbuch looks like that ... the other guys here will correct me if I am wrong
