    Opinions on CCiB Soldbuch

I picked up this Soldbuch on the Kassel show after a lot of hesitation and would like to ask for your opinions. Josef Plesch was a really young boy (look at the photo!) when he was thrown into combat with Jäger-Regiment 54 of the 100. Jäger-Division on the Southern sector of the Eastern Front.

He entered the war with Grenadier-Ausbildungs-Bataillon II/486 and remained with Jäger-Regiment 54 from late 1943 on.

But now.. the awards page. He started off with the silver IAB on 28th of June 1944, awarded by the Kdr. Jäger-Regiment 54. Then on top of this award, the combined entry of EKII and EKI, both awarded by the Kdr. of 100. Jäger-Division and stamped once by Jäger-Regiment 54. Note he was in the field hospital for one day for a minor shell wound just before being awarded the EKI.

Then there is the CCiB by Kdr of Jäger-Rgt 54 and the wound badge by the hospital, both written by the same officer after he was wounded again 13th of December 1944. Both stamped with the Gren-Ausb-Btl 486, a stamp which can be seen on other pages as well.

At first I was suspicious about some of the awards, but the stamps got me convinced... so what do you think?

Well, I've had a few pm's giving it the thumbs up but the silence here is remarkable?

Tim, as mentioned in our conversations a nice one you have there!

Agreed, he actually looks 16 in the photo.

Entering service in Jan, 1943 veterans assigned to the training depot would have instructed him fairly well before being sent forward to the front as a replacement.
