Panzer wrap photo add value to Soldbuch

How much value does it add to a Soldbuch if the photo is a nice clear example showing a Panzer wrap ?

Would it double the value ?

and is a field grey wrap photo worth more than a black wrap ?

I know this is very general question but having read some of the threads here already, Soldbuch with Panzer wraps appear to be sought after.

I have the chance to buy a Panzer Grenadier SB showing a field grey Panzer wrap with skull collar tabs but it is not cheap.

    Any advice would be appreciated,

    Chris

Just my humble input, but I'm more interested in what the book contains as far as units, awards, wounds, etc., than the picture. I'm sure there are some people who add value for a good picture, but I don't know about doubling the price. Just depends on whether or not you find that person, who looks for that certain sort of thing.

Panzer wrap photo add value to soldbuch

I agree with Hank, as IMO, the entries in the book are much more important than a panzer wrap photo. In the past, I've bought a few SS soldbuchs that had photos added to them postwar, just to increase the value of the book, but again, IMO, it only de-valued the book. Be careful when purchasing any so-so (average at best) book with an above average uniform photo, such as a panzer wrap, as it might be a postwar addition. Check the unit stamps on the photo carefully for authenticity, and make sure there is no postwar tampering. If the photo is original to the book, it definitely adds value to it, but as far as doubling the price, that would be up to the buyer. I've known collectors that will not buy a book without a photo, or de-nazified stamps/entries, and that's their loss, as I've seen some great books without photos or that have been de-nazified. It's always nice to own a book with a rare uniform photo, so if you're looking for such a book, be prepared to pay some extra money for it. Good luck!

      Best regards,

      Tom
