    Soldbuch to Panzershutzen..

    Werner Goede.
I thought I'd post this for your opinions. It's at present my only Soldbuch, and I'm trying to work through and translate it.It was issued to 17 year old Werner Goede, who seems to have entered service in late 1944 and then went straight to the east!
There are only a few entries, which is understandable, as he was wounded in early 1945 and then captured by the Russians!
I'd like to find out more about Werner Goede, whether he survived captivity, and also what the Cyrillic writing on the front and first page says?
Also, does any one know what the wound code 33 is?I understand they had wound tables?
    Thanks and regards.Lynton.

Still looking for a Wehrpass to a Panzer Soldier!

If what I have is correct, code 33 is related to frostbite.

His field unit appears to be:

Nachrichtenkompanie, Panzer Ausbildung Abteilung 15 based in Sagan.
In 1945 part of the unit was in Kampfgruppe Dettweiler.

                      /Ian

                          Lynton,

Regarding Werner Goede you could write to http://www.com-de.pair.com/wast/ ...there is an admin fee and responses can take upto 6 months, however they should at least be able to tell you his units, whether he is still alive or when he died.
Fill in the tracing request and see how you go!

Regarding Kampfgruppe Dettweiler...unfortunately I can not hardly anything about it!?!?!!?

Here is about all I have....a list of those missing in action.

                            Hi,

Cant make out all the details on pg 2 but he was born on 11.4.1927 in Breslau, was 1.75m tall, had brown hair and eyes, an oval face, no beard and a shoe size of 29.
Further, a list of wound codes can be found here (33 - Freezing relates disorders): http://www.percy.clara.net/medcodes.htm
