                  Marcel,

Very nice pair of ausweis and well filled in.

Have you gotten a chance to research the rest of his crew?

                  Regards

                    ..

                    Marcel

You may already have this but found his crew info..

                    On 12.3.43 loss of a Ju 88 A-4 WNr: 142298, coded 4D+IB from StabI/KG 30.

Lützow's a/c was hit by AA and shot down down 20 km away from Murmansk.

Crew managed to make an emergecy landing on the frozen lake. FF. Oblt. Helmut Lützow, BF. Ofw Ludwig Kolb and BS Uffz. Edmund Miehstein. Only Kolb was rescued by a Fi-156 (ND+OU) two days after emergency landing. Two others POW.

In addition the bomber was probably shot down by Ml.Lt. Bokij from 2 Gw.IAP around 20.25 hrs. He got in three short bursts from distance of 150-200 m and the enemy bomber went down crash-landing at frozen lake some 40 km W of Murmansk.

                        Very, very nice indeed!

Most importantly, he was involved in all three of the most ferociously fought and most famous convoy battles of the war. PQ 16, the most famous PQ 17 and PQ 18

                          Marcel

Congratulations on an excellent pair in the Wehrpass and Soldbuch set, worthy in any collection, especially with the knowledge that the former owner was involved in such significant Convoy action.

For myself, this set is a researchers dream with so many avenues available to fully uncover the military career and actions undertaken by this man. (Also, I am sure that the Soldbuch will contain some very nice signatures to boot!)

A very good addition to your collection.

                          Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

                            Thanks for the compliments.
I am realy happy with this set.
When I have more time I will research this one a bit more.
I will post a few more picture of the soldbuch this week.
Maybe one of you will recognise some of the signatures.!!!!

According to the records he became a POW ,so it might be possible that he survived the war !!!!
