          Hello Thomas,
There is a book about this unit by Bender - it is available on Amazon for £22 (used)... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hermann-Goer...7455342&sr=1-1

Thanks a lot my friends for the fast help

If I was wright than he got the Ek1 for fights in Sicily / Italy in May 1943 after this the unit was destroyed , I see that he got Afrikazulage in March 1943 but he never received the Afriac Curftitle ( if the unit was destroyed maybe he have not the fight days in Africa )

The only entry after that was a Impfung against Fleckfieber in december 1943 after that I don´t know what is with this soldier

                Regards Thomas

                  Thomas,

I don't think he made it to Sicily but captured in Tunisia/Africa....there does not appear to be any entries after the May 1943, except for vaccinations which could have been entered in PoW captivity.
As for the Afrika cufftitle, it was awarded for 6 months service, or sooner if the person was wounded.....in this case he should have been entitled to it but not entered in the Soldbuch. At this stage of the war the entries were generally made in PoW camp.

In addition to Christof's post try this: http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=2622

I will have a look at a couple of my research files and see if I have anyone from the same unit from the same time......

                  /Ian

                      Thomas,

                      Very nice Soldbuch!

The other book you should try to obtain is "The History of the Fallschirm Panzerkorps Hermann Goring" by Franz Kurowski ISBN 0-921991-25-8 .

I have this and the Bender book referenced earliar and find this publication more comprehensive in terms of documenting the units history, formations, order of battle etc..

                      Again nice Soldbuch.

                      Regards

                      Jeremy

Yes, interesting document. I note the first ersatz unit, localised in Berlin Reinickendorf, in "Hermann Göring Kaserne". I was there 20 years ago...
