Hi,

Is a Marinestammrollennummer the same as an Erkennungsmarke? I have documents from the DDWASt and they have a Marinestammrollennummer O. 51325 MK, I'm wondering what it means.

O. 51325 MK = Stammrollennummer
O. = Marinestation-Ostsee (Baltic Sea)
51325 = soldier's number
MK = Die Laufbahnen XIV, XV, XVII (services XIV, XV, XVII)

Thanks for the translation. It's in-regards to my Great great Grandfather, a WWI vet but re-enlisted in August 1944 even though he was missing one eye and three fingers off his left hand. Apparently he was defusing some kind of explosive and it blew up on him, needless to say he was forced into retirement quiet young only to re-enlist as a much older gentlemen.
