Kripo Discs - Prices?

Hiya,

I have in my collection a mint condition KRIPO disc, 5 digit number, authentic beyond argument, and with a COA from a recognized authority. I'm thinking of selling to pay for other purchases - what do you think is a "good" market price for it, or a price range?

Depends whether you sell it in the US or Europe where prices vary considerably.

US dealers ask around the $3000-3500 which is overpriced IMO and they tend to lie unsold for a long time as a result.

European dealers prices are somewhat cheaper, usually between €1200 - 1500, although the odd dealer does tend to throw these out at higher prices than these which again is overpriced IMO.

Obviously, these are dealers prices. In order to guarantee a sale, a price somewhat lower than those quoted would be ideal, although the final price will be down to you and the future buyer to agree on.

I think that the recognized authority would know of a "good" market price too, or one can Google around on the interent.....

Dedicated disc collectors are few in number and most will already own several Kripo discs.

To be honest, the Kripo discs are probably desirable to many collectors due to their availability and lower price and therefore much more collectable to the casual collector who does not specialize in discs.

However, most dedicated disc collectors would probably say a Gestapo disc is more desirable, but these are obviously more scarce and expensive.

To me, the Gemeinde Kriminalpolizei disc wins hands down!

If you send me the disc number I will let you know if it matches one of the known surviving Kripo dienstausweis.
