Hello,
here is a interesting story that i thought i would share with you guys-some of you may know ive only been collecting wehrpass for roughly the last 3 years, thanks in part to both this site and Gary T's wehrpass site -my german language skills are poor and i was lacking the research tools to research wehrpass's properly-with peoples help from this site and the info on garys site I have found it easier to figure out what all the enrtry's are in a wehrepass, sometimes the writting is hard for me to understand but ive allways found memebsr here were willing to help out with translations, questions etc-anyways so for the past 3 years ive been collecting wehrpass ,I know what a majority of the entrys are in my wehrpass, there were some units that i still needed research on and the other day Akira gave me a link to an outstanding unit research site-(I would much rather research my own stuff than have to ask questions here all the time, thanks again for the link Akira!!)since then ive been going back over all my wehrpass and researching any units that i did not have any info on-and guess what, for the last 3 years ive had a wehrpass for a man who served in the 90th Afrika division without even knowing it!!Im asumeing that the man who sold me the wehrpass didnt realize it either as he sold it to me for a ridiculous price ($35!!) this wehrpass had allways been my favorite because of the amount of battle enries in it-2 pages of handwritten entry's from France and a page of typed entry's from Russia were this man had served with 1. A.R 109 and 3 A.R 109-there wre these unit entries (these 2 units were of interest because he had seen combat while attched to these units-the other unit entry's were less interesting because there were no battle entry's to go along with these so i figured they were units that were stationed in germany that never saw action-however when Akira gave me that link i researched all the units and found that this man had been in A.R (mot)190 (the handwritten entry after A.R 109) from 7.7.42 untill 7.3.43 the time that this unit was in africa with the 90th Afrika div.!!i went back and looked at his battle entrys and guess what i found that i had somehow overlooked before-on the page that his russian entrys were typed was the entry (the last typed entry)21.12.41-17.2.42 verwendung in heimatkreigsgebeit bei 3.A.R 109-am 5.2.42 umgegl. in 6.A.R Grossdeutschland-wich i was told by a forum member was stateing that 3 A.R 109 had been absorbed by 6 A.R Grossdeutchland-there wre 2 more handwritten entry's under this typed entry-one was smudged and hard to read and the other said fertsetenung auf siete 47-(Ian told me this last entry ment continued on pg 47)well there was nothing on pg 47 except some glue-this didnt make much sense to me at the time but it makes sense once i figured out what the last handwritten entry said- "Afrika Feldzug""!!!then it says continued on PG 47!!so someone has removed the battle entries from africa (Im guessing they were a typed page of battle entry's glued in and it was removed leaving only the glue)these are the battle entries that should be in the wehrpass (taken from the unit history of the 90th Afrika Div.)he was in A.R (mot)190 during the folowing time period-
1942
August z. Vfg. Panzerarmee Afrika Afrika El Alamein
November z. Vfg. Dt/Ital. Panzerarmee Afrika Libyen

Februar Dt. Afrika-Korps Dt./Itak. Panzerarmee Afrika Tunis
März Dt. Afrika-Korps 1. ital. Armee Afrika Tunis
he was then in a unit in Germany so he must have been evacuated and not taked prisoner in Africa- so for the last 3 years ive had a wehrpass for a man who served in africa without knowing it!!if it wasnt for the help from fellow forum members and moderators i still wouldnt know what i had!!thanks again guys!!here are some scans-
