CCCib, EKI+II, IAB, etc award entries review.

Here are some awards from a soldbuch that I was considering purchasing.

Are they authentic entries? The only question I have is to the authenticity of the EKII + previous award at the top of page 22. Is the CCCib entry from page 21 ok?

I can get better pictures if needed.

    What do you think?

    Thanks,
    Swayne

        Hi Swayne,

Those award entries one page 21 and 22 are looking fine to me.

          Thanks for the comments guys!

There is another aspect to the book that makes me nervous. The photo.

The photo was stamped in each corner, but there is 1 extra stamp that can only be seen on the photo itself. (the 3 stamps are numbered)
Is there anything wrong with this? Do you think it is a post-war attached photo?
One thing that is a plus is that there are staple marks on page 1 (circled)

I am assuming because the "book opening date" is the 10th of September 1939 that it is not a replacement.

          I need your input.

          Thanks,
          Swayne

            opening date:

PS. I think his name is Josef Zehnpfennig (might not be different). Can you find out what his fate was?

I almost forgot to ask, why was the EKII and the award above it entered the way that they were?

                Swayne,

It is possible that they placed an old photo that was once used on another ID of your man in his Soldbuch, although the photo shows a lower rank, but that is possible.

The two staples seems to bleed into the photo and page one.

It is not a replacement Soldbuch issue.

Your man is not listed on the Volksbund site, so it is possible that he survived the war.

                  Swayne,

Not every clerk did work the same way.

Administration did also differ from unit to unit.

But what do you mean exactly with your question ?, there is nothing wrong with your man's awards.

                  yours friendly

What is the award entry at the bottom of page 21? (under EKI)

I was just making sure that they were authentic. I have been running into difficulty buying soldbuchs that have fake entries.

                    Thanks for the help Eric,
                    Swayne

If any more people have opinions on the photo I would like to hear them also. I just want to hear as many opinions as possible

the entry is for the fuhrerpaket (Berechtigt zum Empfang des Fuhrergeschenks) and underneath that it says kampfer der infanterie.

They recycled photos quite often as I suppose back then it was still quite expensive. The new stamps would obviously validate the photo in its new role, it could have come from a driving licence etc if it is not a second issue book. Not a big deal.

                        Regards

                        Jock
