What you have done militarymedic is exactly what I have been dreaming about doing. Those are excellent displays you have there.

I realize that medals are expensive, but it is a project, which I like the idea of. I have been wanting to work on a "project" kind of like the ones that you have done for your soldbuchs.

The soldbuch that I purchased....the one in this thread, has some expensive medals that I would have to buy. (the CCCiB, Iron Cross 1st Class, IAB, etc)

I am really happy to see that you have had the same idea as I do right now.

Thanks for posting your displays, it really does help get ideas flowing for me,

    Many Thanks,
    Swayne

Is Josef listed on the war graves sites?

I am assuming Josef isn't listed on the war graves website because none of you said anything about it.

Thanks for your help guys, I have learned so much!

He is not listed in the graves site... so he probably survived the war.

On 10-9-1944 Josef received a bdg. pistol (number 587)

Is there any way to know what type of pistol this could have been.
(I am assuming he had a K98 rifle)

            Thanks,

Do you guys have any ideas as to what the numbers written on the inside cover of the soldbuch represent?

              Thanks for the help,

Hmmm... The sum of the numbers represents the total number of times you're going to bump this thread up with a new question about this Soldbuch?

                Just kidding of course.

I know that you are just kidding, I am only asking because I cannot find anything in any reference books or information onliane as to what these could represent.

It may be inventory/serial numbers for whatever is written at the side that I circled.

Looks like maybe a gasmask or gasplane or weapon?
