Hi Christof,
That is indeed a "new beauty at home".
One does not often see an Arzt with so many combat awards and up to the Nahkampfspange i.Bronze, a real combat medic.
Also a nice uniform photo that shows your man in his wrapper.

Wow! Very nice Soldbuch Christof.
It looks like Herrmann received all his awards on the Ost Front. Then he was transfered to Schnelle Abteilung 511 in the West.
Very interestingly as I have a Soldbuch/Wehrpass set to a Hauptfeldwebel who I believe served in Schnelle Abteilung 511 and was transfered for a short time into Pz Gr Regt 901 during August, 1944. I will have to check later today and confirm.
Sometime during August, 1944 Schnelle Abteilung 511 was disbanded and absorbed into Pz Gr Regt 901 which had suffered severe losses in Normandy and was conducting delaying actions during withdrawl into Eastern France.Last edited by Edward; 09-20-2010, 08:52 AM.Comment
