Dr. Lachmann wasn't an "Oberstleutnant," he was an "Oberfeldintendant," senior army Beamter of I think Oberstleutnant equivalence.

            Doktor Lachmann

Doktor Lachmann is listed in the 1939 Rangliste as an Oberintendanturrat (Lieutenant-Colonel military official equivalent) on the staff of Wehrkreis-Verwaltung VI, seniority of the 6th of March 1934 H. His rank in the Soldbuch reflects his post May 1944 transfer into officer status as an Oberfeldintendant, still as a Lieutenant-Colonel.

            Glenn

Hi all, not really a soldbuch person, but is that not an unusual photograph of the owner, with regard to what the regulations called for, the soldiers head turned slightly to the left so his left ear was visible etc etc?

                  Cheers
                  Ian

                    Hi Ian,

Thats what the regs, say, but as you are aware with WP's you do get a lot of variation.

What I couldn't get over was how large it was as the Duchess said to the Bishop
