    Eric,

Not exactly sure which one but it is the gold chord for distinguished achievements in the technical maintenance service for flying troops.

One of the Tätigkeitsabzeichen worn on the arm...in this case with the addition of the gold chord border.

I will check my references to see which one it is!

    /Ian

Thanks again Ian. Almost surprised they would enter something like that in the soldbuch. Learn something new everyday.

I have about 5 that have mention of the gold chord for trade badges but very few that mention the actual trade badge itself.

Normally referenced as the "Tätigkeitsabzeichen" then the respective trade....off the top of my head the drivers and flying troops I have for gold chord and a couple for the flak trade badge.....now thinking about it I also have a few range finder guys as well.

I do have a Fj. group where the guy started off as a Bordmechaniker on Ju 52, He 70, He 111 and Do 17, then to to aircraft movement control as a “Startleiter” (Airfield controller). 1943 he volunteered for the Fallschirmtruppe and was transferred to Italy with Fallschirmjäger Lehr Regiment / “Kampfgruppe Herrmann”, then to France and ending the war in a railway Flak unit on the Elbe.

The photos I do have of him are pre Fj. and he wears the trade badge for flying personnel on his sleeve.....no mention of this in his Soldbuch

            /Ian
