My reasoning for the lower price is the fact that there are very few entries. 1 unit entry, 1 award.. nothing much in-between. As my friend Eric said... very basic soldbuch.

It is a nice soldbuch in good condition but the "meat" of the soldbuch isn't there. 50-60€ IMO is a fair price.. maybe even 70€.

You are lay! I know what the book is worth, I was curious only, but I learned a lesson.

Shall it not be sent by me in a gift?

        Lay?
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Rose, your reasoning is sound and the estimate fair. For the Soldbuch in question if there was an erkennungsmarke to go along with the Soldbuch would say 70€ - 80€ tops. As for the Soldbuch by itself it is not particularly uncommon to find complete late-war replacement Soldbucher with photo in great shape. Have several of them in the collection.

The erkennungsmarke is not. Here an other one coded:

                layman means a non-expert?

A question to you, do you call yourself an expert?

It's a replacement Soldbuch with just a lowly KVK.II m.s. award entry. Hardly anything to get overly excited about and, IMHO, doesn't rank very high on the "desirability" scale. As for the value, I'd say 50 EURO would be more than fair.

To be quite honest I am not an expert, and have never, nor will I ever, claim that I am because I'm always learning something new.. However, I do collect soldbuchs and have gathered knowledge from the other great collectors of this forum.

I hope the lesson you "learned" is that when you ask for opinions you'll receive them, and they wont always match your opinion.

Honestly, that is a pretty boring Soldbuch and I personally wouldn't even pay $50 for it... You can say all you want that it's worth 100 Euros at least but no one here agrees with you. And maybe someone on eBay would pay that for it, but we all know how ridiculous things can get on eBay. Yes, it is complete in 'beautiful condition'... But I, and I think most collectors would agree, don't buy mine based solely on the condition as this book has nothing to excite anyone.

Someone actually paid 120 Euro for that Soldbuch??? Yikes... You know what they say about a fool and their money.........

Well, to each his own I guess. Regardless of what it sold for, it doesn't change the fact that it's a boring and unimpressive SB that I still value at around $50.00
