Why Is Award X'd, Re-entered in Soldbuch?

The wound badge is crossed out then re-entered by another. Why would this take place?

On page 17, is the entry "stab schw." ?

There are 2 dates for the wound badges......perhaps they changed their mind and the wound was not worthy of an award only to change their mind again!
Or....the clerk was blind and could not read Sütterlin and entered it directly under the first entry.....I have seen this before.

Can't make out the stamp but I take it they were awarded from two seperate hospitals? Of course the Hospital has the right to award wound badges alon with EK II's.....perhaps the administration got it wrong somewhere.................

Nice Kavallerie Soldbuch.....can we see more?

Page 15 bears the signature of Oberleutnant (later Rittmeister) Gert Westphal.

Written to page one, which is typical when wounded and carries the date, unit and type of the wound. This is the date of his wound rather than the date when he reached hospital on page 12-13.

Thanks for the comments Ian. Kav soldbuchs are not found very often. I would love to get a Kav. Rgt. Sud soldbuch. I have 3 sb's and wp to Nord already.

I really like the K43 entry also. I am pretty sure that's what it is.
