      Sounds to me strange the abbreviation JTAL.....and not ITAL......and also the rude manufacture of all...
      I prefer to leave comments to the appropriate members deepest involved into this difficult field...

        Hello

        In the german WWII army was an order to print J for I. The reason for it is the danger of confusion with the roman numbers of the Wehrkreise, Luftgaue, Bataillone, etc.


        Out of these reasons, most of the Infanterie Ersatz dogtags were printed: Jnf Ers.


        The ital dogtag is an unissued good one. Years ago there was a hoardfinding in germany.
