Bill , I found this photo of Ustuf.Gaede. The divisional history lists him as
2.Kp Chef through the Ardennes offensive ending the war as 1.Kp Chef.
The signature dated 1/10/44 is prehaps Hstuf. Minow who took over 2.Kp.
He is listed at that rank in Feb. 45. If it is him the change took place in
Oct 44 and he's a Ustuf.

Thanks very much Steve !!! I think it has been 20+++ since I saw you, this is a small world!!! You should get a hold of George Clark, he is heavily involved in the Military Vehichles and running of the museum up in Chilliwack. His pet project at the moment is the restoration of a Sherman!
Ribbentropp was part of the original cadre of personel from LAH ,trained and lead 3.Kp through the summer of 44, eventually asumming command of the I Abt.
He was highly respected & admired by his Kompanie.

Great group Bill with a lot of history to research
He is indeed wearing leather pants with a dot pz wrapper on the picture in front of the panther. They all do.
On page 4, block "C", line B there is actually written "ss pz regt Wunsche".
regards Erwin
Thanks Erwin,
As far as researching the book, it is well documented. I was lucky to pick this set up from Herr Hundestaffel ( you can see some of his posts on this set) I am sure you know his work,IMO he is defiantly one of the most knowledgeable men on these books, his research is incredibly detailed!
So the set is no "mutt", coming from Herr Hundestaffel, a "purebread" with a fine pedigree, originally came from Barry
I would like to thank all for thier comments and help, it makes it worth while sharing! I know I have seen this photo The top-left foto was taken in the courtyard of the famous abbey "Ardenne" north-west of Caen, then the headquarter of the 12th SS-Panzer (same goes for lower left foto of post 16). It has to be in a Normandy related book, has anyone seen it and knows of the name of the book?

Doktor Villy !!!
Many thankx...actual compliments for "Hundestaffel" here on the WAF are (believe me) few and far between, so I'll gladly take whatever I can get !!! Hopefully, by the time you sober up a bit (a lot, actually), take off your Beer Goggles and read the drunken lies you have written, enough time will have passed so that you can't go back and modify your post !!!

No chance of that my friend; I have been in an alcohol haze since the late90’s when I couldn’t keep everything that you were moving when changing collecting interests!!
Can you kindly enlarge and post the two smaller shots of Bussmann wearing his Black SS Panzer Wrapper and also the photo of him and another crew member standing in front of Panther
"248" ???
Here are a few more select lines from Bussman's letters back home...
Now to my letters, which you don't seem to derive much pleasure from. At the moment you do not need to worry.
Yesterday we tried the Wermut, which had just arrived. Result: Today I have a hangover and wish I could have a Rollmops or something similar. Well, at home you might be able to get it. I haven't heard anything about my application for leave, which I handed in four weeks ago. Nothing has been said. Four men are suppose to leave every week. I hope it will be my turn in five or six weeks - hopefully!
Everything is fine with me, and I hope the same from you. Did the Tommy visit you again? Nobody disturbs us at the moment. I hope it stays like that, because it is not very nice when that little bit of sleep that we get is interrupted. That is enough for today. Please answer soon.
Today some important people are here and the Regiment marches past them while singing, as many times before.
How was your New Years? Very likely quiet, or ? I slept through it, can you believe that? Well, I needed my sleep badly. With a comrade I bought several "bottles". We were stupid to start drinking already at 20:00 hours. Result: Around 9:30 I already had too much. At 10 o'clock I went "happily" to bed. I don't know how I got into it, and it does not matter, the main thing is that I found my bed. Today I have a bit of a hangover. Now you know everything.
Now I would like to ask you for some favours. I would be very grateful if you could send me some cigarettes. The stuff that is available here, thank you : "lung torpedo". The ones that we are provided with are O.K., but it is not enough.
Note that Bussmann's name is entered as "Dieter Bussmann" in his Soldbuch and as "Heinz Bussmann" on his EK2 Award Document (a not uncommon occurrence).....

Yes, I noticed that. No doubt a select few would write this off as "bogus" because of that Proof that not everything needs to be 100% consistent and correct to be legit (mistakes happened!) That said, one can't just excuse any piece with errors or mistakes and call it "original."
