        Kampfgruppe Peiper

        Very Nice Nico C

I also have been thinking about the 65th anniversary of "Wacht am Rhein"

This soldbuch belonged to SS Sturmmann Fritz Lederer 7/SS Pz. Regt 1 LAH
They were equipped with Mk IV's.

Fritz likely witnessed the events at the Baugnez crossroads on 17/12/1944

On 18/12 he would loose leg in an air attack on the Kampfgruppe between

Stavelot & Trois-Ponts. On the 19th he was across the Rhein at Linz in hospital.

I'll re-post mine right after Steve is done, since I accidentally snuck mine in the middle of his!

He kept his field Grey Feldmutze and though not discernible in the scan the LAH cypher is upside down on the shoulder board.

Fritz spent significant time in the hospital in 1943

Suffered a training accident while at Sennelager in October 1944

After his leg loss and as the front pushed eastward he was transferred several times finally ending the war in Austria.
