Thought so....so Herr Stössel started off as an infantry signalman (Radio or telephone!) by the looks of things? Whether or not he remained in this role is hard to say but he was on the unit Staff!

He wasn't in that unit according to his Soldbuch? He looks like an infantryman who has been training in signals then transferred to a Nebel-Werfer unit....on the Staff but obviously in combat!

IER 29 was the replacement unit for 29 Inf.Div. but it appears he did not transfer there! It was from Wehrkreis IX, however Nebel Werfer Abt. 9 was from Wehrkreis XI.
