Not sure if this is the right forum to post but i'll try.

Would you think this ID Tag is a good one? It was seemingly dug up. Any opinions on it and further information would be very much appreciated.

It seems original and from Regiment D "Deutschland".

It's OK But in this condition does not show any value. It's a very popular tag of Ersatzbataillon Deutschland.

Here in Germany it might bring Euro 10-20 but I would personally not consider anything in that condition and have a very strong diskike for "dug" dog-tags. These unfortunately often come from looted or dug-out graves and mean that the soldier buried there will never be identified.

No real monetary value in this... Not much desirability either. But that's just my opinion.

As my knowledge concerning dogtags is somewhat limited,

1. how much do these dugup SS tags go for?

2. how about the value of good conditioned ones?

3. I presume this piece pictured is a good one?

i know the SS ID tags sell for around £45/50 each, on most relic dealers sites the SS relic items sell quite well.

45 quid for an authentic SS tag? Well I wish good luck. Nice condition SS tags go from 100 - 250 Euro. Concentration camp or some rare units can go even more expensive. But... we are talking good condition whole tags.
The one here is just a quarter and in lousy condition. No coy number visible.
It may show some symbolic value for one collecting relics from some particular battlefield, but not for an ID tag collector.

I also think that British Pound 45 to 50 is far too little for a real SS dog-tag (of course not for a copy of which most SS dog-tags now seem to be!). It has been correctly mentioned that the dog-tag value has to do with the unit and condition. Wear on a dog-tag is no problem and is normal, but why waste your time with "dug" dog-tags? I prefer to get my tags with the original cord and watch for the wear at the eyelets as well as corrosion from the salt which is in the cord from the sweat of the wearer. After the war these often were wrapped around the dog-tag and really has an effect on a zinc or aluminium tag.
