            Hi Antony,

I have seen that Soldbuch before and not so long ago, but I can not remember where that was.

I like those well used and overloaded with information Soldbücher.

That is how one expect to see a Soldbuch after all those combat years with a very active SS Division fighting in the West and the East.

Thanks for showing that booklet here in WAF.

            yours friendly

              EJ,

I too have seen this one recently, offered either here on WAF or a dealer site... I mentioned this earlier to "Hundestaffel" when he sent me the link to this thread!

Quality Das Reich Soldbücher aren't exactly easy to find... I've been looking for a nice example (Panzer, Panzerjäger, StuG, etc.) for quite a while now without any luck. Anthony, is it possible to post a scan of the inside front cover showing the photo and stamps?

                  Many thanks guys!

Yes Eric-Jean, it's hard to find an SS combat soldbuch. And as you wrote this is in a very used condition but this is what i would expect from a man who see a lot of action.

@ Rob: I bought this not from the WAF, but from a dealer that i know who sent me an e-mail with this SB.

Here a pic of the inside cover...

Before buy it i checked all the stamps

Great well used book. You can't fake those kind of entries.

Like I said, I have seen this offered somewhere before and as I clearly said, it was on either on WAF or a dealer site.

Also, the reason I asked to see a better scan was due to the shifted stamp on the top left hand corner of the photo, so no need to roll your eyes... It was a legitimate, honest request to simply see a better picture. That's all.

As I said, I have seen this one before - I just found it in my digital archive of SS Soldbücher.

Offered by Detlev... The file is dated November 2008.

No time to look closer at the others but at least one entry signed by German Cross in Gold holder Heinz Schubert (II.Abteilungskommandeur).

Antony, a very nice Soldbuch! I also prefer good entries to good condition!

Jeff, you are correct and this is just another reason why I prefer used, well-worn Soldbücher chock full of entries as opposed to late-war issue or replacement examples with very little wear and only a few entries. After studying original used examples such as this Das Reich book, you see that - as Jeff has said - they just can't be faked.

                                Not yet, anyway.
