    SB Gebj. Obergerfreiter

Here my 2nd SB. This belonged to a Hermann Frick. He started out as a Reiter?? So, I'm assuming he started out in a cav unit. I think that is the first unit listed on the 4th page.. Could use some help with that.

He earned 4 awards, Westwall, BWB, EK2, and Romanian medal with spange krakow? His ending unit was a Gebj unit.

Can someone tell me what this red stamp is on his photo? There's a nice Gegj. stamp above reiter

    Enjoy

He was in the Hospital ALOT!

The red stamp appears to be in French? Perhaps some sort of post-war stamp allowing him to use the book as official identification.

He was a gebirgsjäger throughout his service. Aufklärungs Abteilung 94 was the recce battalion of the 4 Gebirgs Division, GJR 13 was of course one of the infantry regiments of the same division.

The use of the term Reiter is simply due to him being in a recce battalion which kept the traditions of the old cavalry arm.

As that guy came from the Baden (Lake Konstanz) area which was part of the French occupation zone it could have been a certain verification of his status by the French Occupation Army given by that red stamp. For sure he stamp is from the French Army after May 1945
