Funny you should say that but I had to translate such a promotion for someone the other week but I forget who, what, where and when now!!

Interestingly it is confirming of course a war time promotion in July!!!

Likewise the same can be said for awards as well.

Berlin doesn't come into it. The promotion was confirmed via telephone from reservation 33 to the reservation at Mandal, west of Kristiansand.

I've seen orders from the KM in Norway from after the end of the war that request subunits to submit the names of those that had been recommended for promotion prior to the end of the war as well as those recommended for the KVK award of 20th April '45 but had not got it. Clearly they wanted to complete those promotions and awards that had been in the pipeline when the war ended.
