Pz Rgt 24 Panther Soldbuch (1. Abteilung)

A friend was kind enough to pick this Soldbuch up a week ago for me from a collector who had found this at the Mannheim flea market early in the morning and then brought it to the Bad Dürkheim flea market for me. As I was in Switzerland my friend helped me out and now I owe him one!

This soldier went into training with Pz Rgt 204 in Schwetzingen and then on to Pz Rgt 24. We can assume that his duties were staff until late 44 and then he went into action in 1945 in Hungary. All of the actions in 1945 from 18 January through 21 April were with PzKpfw. V (Panther) according to the 24th PD unit history.

The upper entry on this page is possibly one of the most interesting entries in the Soldbuch. He is authorized to wear the yellow Soutache on the field cap.

further unit entries, most probably due to illness or wound.

documentation for PAB and one of the most informative pages of the Soldbuch. All of the locations given can be found in the actions listing for the 1. Abteilung in Hungary and all actions were with Panther.

As I mentioned, I owe my friend one for getting this for me!
