To say this is not my area of expertise would be a gross understatement! Any help would be appreciated. Happy to reshoot any important pages THANKS!

Maybe you would get more responses if you were a bit more specific about what info you're looking for. To translate the whole Soldbuch is a lot of work. You may also wish to re-take a couple of photos so they are more in focus.

Here you can probably figure out some of the info you're interested in: http://www.soldbuchweb.com/sbpg02.htm

For example, on Page 2 it tells you personal info, what color his hair is, his eye color, when and where he was born etc.

It looks like he was promoted a few times, his last promotion was to Stabsgefreiter?

Thanks, I'll check out that link. Looking for unit info, decorations, and wounds...basically combat history. Not sure which pages are most important and happy to reshoot and important ones. I don't collect paper and will be reselling this piece but want to be able to describe it accurately on estand. What is the red stamp on the last page "Fuhrer's thanks"??
I did get a PM noting he was a signal man for the 329 infantry Division, serving with Heers Group Nord.

You have the Soldbuch to Stabsgefreiter Alwin Engelhardt of Dähre (Altmarkkreis Salzwedel).

He was a signalman and served with Signals Battalion of 329 Infanterie Division.

          http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...onen/329ID.htm

Page 6-7 shows his clothing and equipment issue.

Page 8 shows weapons and equipment normally found on an insert pages 8a-8d. Includes gasmask, rifle, gas cape, marching compass etc.

Page 12-13 shows hospitalisations and wounds. Here he suffered from 27 which is eye problems, possible blindness or loss of an eye.

Page 15 shows security checks on the Soldbuch with corresponding unit stamp, authorising signature and his Kriegstammrollen nummer (Unit roster number).

Page 18 shows his Wehrsold pay group which corresponds with the ranks of Gefreiter/Obergefreiter/Stabsgefreiter.

page 20? shows payment of Wehrsold (war pay) March 1944 from the Convalescent Home of 16 Army. 329 Inf.Div. was fighting under 16 Armee at that time.
16.4.1945 the holder is in possession of a pair of Marching boots, the entry under that states he isn possession of a pair of boot trousers (Jodphurs) .

Page 23 shows his leaves, the red stamp indicating he received the Führergeschenk/Führerpaket which was gift for those soldiers going on leave. Contained such items as extra food coupons, tobacco ration, sometimes wine or champagne and even money.

The photo on the inside front cover shows a man wearing a War Merit Cross 2nd Class (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2 Klasse)....the entry may or may not be in the Soldbuch but normally found on page 20.

          Hope that helps a bit?

          /Ian

One thing I did not point out, at the top it says Fronturlauberpaket and underneath Führergeschenk.

Thanks to those that PM'd and added to this thread. I'll put it on estand shortly and hopefully it will find a home that can appreciate it.

Looks like you did not post page 22....that would have his awards on and clearly you show evidence of the KVK which he is wearing in the photo!

The Kurland cufftitle is not all that rare actually in Soldbluch or Wehrpaß, the actual cufftitle is and more so the award citation!

There is no mention of him on the German War Graves site as being missing or dieing in captivity.....where did that information come from as it is not shown in Solbduch either?
