Here the information:


Panzerabwehr-Abteilung 1

Aufgestellt am 1. Oktober 1934 als "Kraftfahr-Abteilung Goldap", am 15. Oktober 1935 Umbenennung in Panzetabwehr-Abteilung 1. Unterstellt unter die 1. Infanterie-Division. Bei der Mobilmachung wurde am 17. August 1939 die 1./MGK 31 als 4. Kompanie übernommen. Nach dem Polenfeldzug am 1. April 1940 Umbenennung in
Panzerjäger-Abteilung 1. Am 10. September 1943 erfolgte die Umgliederung zur schweren Panzerjäger-Kompanie unter Einbeziehung der Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 1001 und der Fla.Kp. (Sf) 664.

Ersatztruppenteil war die Panzerabwehr-Ersatz-Abteilung 1

Fallschirm-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 11

Formed in January 1944 with 4 companies, as Korps-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 1 der Luftwaffe.

Renamed Fallschirm-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 11 in 6.44, and became Fallschirm-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 111 on 28.3.45.

Korpstruppe, and served under I. Fallschirm-Korps.

Fsch. Genesenden Batl.1 Aschersleben is:


Fallschirm-Jäger-Ersatz-Bataillon 1

Formation ordered 5th November 1943, and was to be completed by 1st February 1944.

Provided replacement troops for the I. Fallschirm-Korps and the 1st and 4th Fallschirm-Jäger-Divisions.

Stationed at Aschersleben in January 1945.

Renamed Fallschirm-Genesenden-Bataillon 1 in February 1945.


I think your man was in that FJ Ersatz unit in Januar 1945?
That's probably the reason why they have changed the units name.

I do not know what number is behind that Ersatz battaillon? Please give some more information on that one.
