Even if you don't want to learn the language, there are many online translators that you can use to do your own translating (for example, the letters you posted). It's so much more rewarding to do your own research and make the discoveries on your own instead of having someone else do it for you. I'd imagine that before you buy something you would like to know what it is, that way you can avoid having to post your new acquisitions here and have someone tell you what they are/say.

    Nice KIA Wehrpass...

    Hi Rob,

Thank you for the sugestions. I know what the Wehrpasses and Soldbuchs were for and I know what each of the pages are for too.

If the writing is legible then I have used online translators like babelfish and found a lot out.

I'm currently learning German in night school and at home but I admit I'm only up to a basic level at the moment. The rest can only come with time and practice.

I like posting on here because people can tell me a lot about the units etc and I thought people would like to see them becausse they will be tucked up in my collection for what I hope is a quite a few years, I'm only 24 It's good to share things and I thought people might enjoy seeing them.

As for buying them, I just buy every 10 or 20 Euro Wehrpass I come across in flea markets, and I only pay more if I deffinatly know theres something special in them. I have never payed more than 40 euro for a W.P or Soldbuch, I'm a true bargain hunter and I have deffinatly found a lot. There has been pleanty of special thingss crop up in my cheap items like:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=306136

Worked out a £4 when the exchange rate was good!

Even the 10 euro ones that turn out nothing special, I am still very happy to have them because its cheap for a piece of history.

I have approximatly 100 W.P and S.Bs and only about 10 are properly researched so i know there will be some jems in there.

I just need to learn how to read the Suttelin

    Best wishes,

    Joe

Only if it has a photo of the man wearing a wrap on the inside front cover
