OK, thanks Fronti. The Danmark tag I have is so badly corroded by the soil that it's difficult to see any umlaut over the A or not. Given it's location I'm satisfied it's original.
I got an eMail from C. Kleijn regarding the Umlaut Ä in Danmark dogtags.
I must correct my statement.
Following points are for sure:
1.) The german name of the Freikorps was Danmark not Dänemark or Denmark.
2.) The original SS Freikorps Danmark dogtags (out of the series and not self mades) are written with "DANMARK" (without Umlaut Ä)
3.) There was an original series of dogtags from "Ersatz Kompanie Freikorps Dänemark" written with Umlaut Ä, but this dogtags are from The Ersatz Kompanie. (There was just another series from "Ersatz Kompanie Freikorps DANMARK" without Umlaut Ä)
My statement that there was no DANMARK dogtag with Umlaut Ä was related to dogtags stamped with "SS Freikorps DANMARK" and for dogtags from "SS Pz Gren Rgt DANMARK". (Not for the ones from Ersatz Kompanie)
Here you can see one with Umlaut Ä from Ersatz Kompanie
I agree with Fronty 100 % but come back to the original question : tag number 44 from 2. Kp./Freikorps Danmark original or not ??? Fronty show us a tag from same unit (number 114) with a flat written on it and this one is with a round written.... The problem is the tag number 6 (at home in a cup of week) is with a flat written to...
