    Here is what I found on the net:

    Fliegerschule der Luftwaffe (S) 2

    Kommandeure:

    * ?
    * Maj Arnold Willerding, 12.8.41 - 13.10.42

    Formed 1.40 in Flensburg, but on 10.7.41 moved to Freiburg.

    On 14.10.42 redesignated Erg.Gruppe für Fallschirm-Kampfbeobachter.

    20.3.1942 erste Einsätze Cholm
    Der Abwurf von Versorgungsbehältern war für die Gruppe wieder eine Aufgabe, die etwas völlig Neues darstellte. Es wurden ihr dafür Fallschirm-Kampfbeobachter der Fallschirm-Kampfbeobachter-Schule Freiburg zur Verfügung gestellt, die auch meistens über keinerlei Feinderfahrung verfügten und dene die kleinen Orientierungen im Tiefstflug oder in dem öden Gelände um Cholm ziemliche Schwierigkeiten machten. Trotzdem gelang es nach verhältnismäßig kurzer Zeit schon auch diese Aufgabe zu meistern und die Versorgung regelmäßig durchzuführen.

    Could be to do something with supply.

      Jens,

      Interesting units, I have only ever seen two that had Kampf Beobachter entries and to be honest at the time didn't know what to think!

      If it was a renamed of the Fliegerschule der Luftwaffe (S) 2 then it most probably has a glider connection.

      I can see FKB - Fallschirm Kampfbeobachter, but also I think I can see FBK - Flughafen Betriebs Kompanie or Airfield Operating/Servicing Company.

      His last unit is the Fallschirm Kraffahrzeug Instandsetzung Kompanie or Airborne Motor Vehicle Repair Company of 1 Fallschirm Division.

      From page 1, written in red is his position of trade...looks like Kfz. something.....could you show a better scan of that entry? If it is Kfz. then it is vehicle related.

      If he was a FKB, he would be para trained and provided aerial observation for para drops.

      /Ian

          Guys, thank you for the information and sorry for the delay

          Sounds like an interestiung unit but I also didnt found anything usefull on the net, beside from the information that was kindly provided by Roam

          @ Ian, I have a closer look and the word means "KfZ - Handwerker" so indeed vehicle relted.

          Any ideas what I could ask for this set ?

          Many thanks Jens

            No problem mate,as for the price i have no idea,seeing as you are from Germany,you should ask in the Bundesarchiv for information on the Beobachter,would be good to make a bitr of more research,frankly your thread was the first time i heard about the Beobachter.

            EDIT:Actually i now found something that could prove that they were indeed for Supply,Air-Supply to be exact,in particular transporting Paratroopers and their supply.
