    Knackered but nice

Thought I'd start a new thread where people could post their most knackered, battered but oh so nice Wehrpass'.

Here's mine.....yes it's seen better days but it's still a nice rare one with a great selection of KZ postings.

            Although pretty beat up, most info is still readable. Dates of KL service are;

            10/06/41 - 18/01/42 Mauthausen
            19/01/42 - ??/11/42 3. Komp Mauthausen
??/11/42 - 07/04/43 Sachsenhausen (Promoted to SS Oberschutze)
            08/04/43 - 14/12/43 Neuengamme (Promoted to SS.Sturm.d.R)
            15/12/43 - 15/02/44 Trawniki
            16/02/44 - 27/02/44 Lublin
            28/02/44 - 30/09/44 Buchenwald
            01/10/44 - 31/12/44 Mittlebau
            01/01/45 - ???????? (Unreadable)

              Hmm... Very nice book.
I have a SS Soldbuch for Wilhelm Pokkrant.
              (on the war graves site)
I bought it many years ago.
I was told it has the only stamp to survive from the SS KZ trianing camp "Trawniki"
              (?)

Sounds like a great Soldbuch I would love to see.

Great untouched, unplayed with and knackered (!!) original SS KL Wehrpass Graham.

The "Trawniki" entry is especially nice (and indeed legitimate).

Just a late note on that "Trawniki" entry - Trawniki supplied various SS Guards (mainly Ethnic Germans and Foreigners) to various KL's, Ukrainian trained Trawniki men noted especially for their brutality. With his obvious experience in KL's, I would presume that this fellow was sent to Trawniki (in a teaching capacity) to pass along his "expertise" to the new recruits in regards to KL work.

                      Hi Trev,

                      I totally agree.

However, another possible scenario could be that he was sent 'Trawniki' to undertake specific training himself which was relevant to his KL service, after which he tested these new skills at 'Lublin' for several weeks before being sent back to Germany to put these into practise within the KL system proper.

What we do know is that this guard, who up to that time had 2 1/2 yrs experience in the KL system and had been promoted twice within that time, had found himself taken from Neuengamme, Germany, to a KL training camp in Poland for 8 weeks, then to another KL 40KM away for 12 days, only to be returned to another main KL in Germany!

Whatever the answer, a fascinating WP to a "career" guard, and such a shame it is in this condition.
