I am not a soldbuch guy so hopefully you guys can shed some light on the entries in this soldbuch which is for sale. This is an Army DAK soldbuch for a Luftwaffe man that I assume is a copy made from the original? I say this because he won the flak badge in 1944 and was awarded the Afrika cufftitle and Africa campaign medal in 1943 as you can see in the 2nd photo but it has "d.a? soldbuch" captioned next to all 3 entries which are written with the same ink. Is this shorthand for "d. Übertr. a. d. alten Soldbuch" or "transcribed from old soldbuch"? Also on the top of page 1 it has something written at the top which looks somewhat similar to the short hand of "Ersatzausfertigung" or "replacement"...maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. Would they have written this on page 1? Do you guys agree that this wouldn't have been carried in North Africa and is a replacement? Thanks guys!

It states on page 01 that this is a Zweitschrift, or second issue (replacement) Soldbuch. It is very normal to see this entry at the top of page 01 of replacement Soldbücher.
What date was the Soldbuch issued? Can you please post scans of page 02, as well as any other pages that have entries?

Thanks for the info Rob. I don't have a pic of the 2nd page but here are 3 other photos of the book. Might be a stupid question, but who exactly would transcribe the replacement soldbuch?.. his company commander? Any other coments welcome on these pages.Attached FilesLast edited by tropenmilitaria; 03-27-2009, 11:18 PM.
