    Hi,
the FPN 42752 is listed with this unit:

    RAD-Gruppenführer 21

Also there stands befor RAD-Gruppenführer 21 "(1.3.1942-7.9.1942)". That means, that the Date of allocation has been from the 1.3.1942 to the 7.9.1942. So now you know the date when someone wrote the FPN in.

Somebody has some experience in finding out more about a soldier according to a name and feld post number? Is there maybe an archive which can tell me more about the career of this soldier? I know only his name and FP number.

          Goedenavond!
Well, there are a lot things you can do! The first thing what I would do is to check out the database of the Volksbund Deutscher Kriegsgräberfürsorge. With a bit luck you may will finde the wanted informations:
          http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche/
What you can do also is to contact the WASt (http://www.dd-wast.de/frame_e.htm) This is the detailed way to get infotmations, but also a long way and you have to pay money. So first check out the VDK and we will see what we can do here ::
          Regards,
          Siegbert

by the way.. his name is Gussen....

There is a little note in my cannister, found about 8 years ago in a private household in Helmond, with the name Gussen... his FP number and a rank I can't read ... something saying ober..?..fuehrer. That could be one of the RAD rankings?!

                Hi Ruben,
no im not from the Netherlands. But ive been there some times and i have to say that you are living in a great country Did you found some soldiers that matchs with Gussen? As far as i know there are the following ranks in the Reichsarbeitsdienst that ends with "-führer":

                Truppführer
                Oberführer
                Arbeitsführer
                Oberarbeitsführer
                Oberstarbeitsführer
                Generalarbeitsführer
                Obergeneralarbeitsführer
                Reichsarbeitsführer

Maybe some of these ranks match with entry in the cannister?
                Best regards,
                Siegbert

                  Hi Siegbert,

Thaks again for your help and information. I really appreciate it. Die Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge provided me with 7 persons named Gussen, but no M. Gussen, which is the name in the cannister. There was a Willy Gussen though who died in Holland, but that is no M. Gussen.

I really can't read his rank on the paper:-( It is in Sutterlin.

I also did a request for research at the WASt, but as you already told me any result can take up to six months.

Are there maybe also other institutes with information? The Bundesarchiv in koblenz maybe?

                  Thanks again!

                  regards from Holland!
                  Ruben

                    Hi Ruben,
                    Thanks again!
                    No problem
First I would not do a request to the Bundesarchiv Koblenz or to any other institutes and I would wait until the answer from the WASt comes. I hope that you will get the wanted infornmations but sometimes the WASt don't gives informations, because there are not enough indications. Concerning the rank I would post it here. Maybe somebody can decipher it.
                    Best regards,
                    Siegbert
