Sniper Equipment Issuance in Soldbuch

Here is a great Soldbuch that recently came out of the woodwork in the Vaterland. The soldier served with the 542. Grenadier Division (later the 542. Infanterie Division and finally the 542. Volksgrenadier Division). When the division was forming in Stablack, the soldier was issued a sniper rifle, scope, special rounds, camouflage equipment for snipers, etc. This is only the second example I have seen (I once had a nearly identical Soldbuch for a member of the 272. Infanterie Division and I can't rmember what unit the other soldier was assigned to). Anyway, I thought I would post the issuance page and am wondering how many of you out there have a Soldbuch with similar entries. Has anyone ever seen the entry "Tarnausrustung fuer Einsatz als Scharfschuetze"? This is the first I have seen.

Barry was the Sniper badge entry in it ??? I have self five soldbooks with the self entrys but all without the badge

Thomas, no, there is no entry for the badge. I hope to post some more photos soon - I'm still trying to catch up after the SOS.

This stamp appears on page 1. Has anyone seen such a stamp?

I have two Soldbücher with this stamp and have told the owner....will take a look for them at the weekend.

Thanks Ian. Ia presumably refers to the operations section of the Generalkommando "Ems" A.K. (Armeekorps). I have to run out the door now, but it looks like this might be the answer:

XXXI A.K. z.b.V. was created in late March 1945 and was also known as Korps Ems.

Not sure where you got that info from Barry but I have:

Korps Kdr. General der Infanterie Siegfried Rasp RKT

Generalkommando Ems
Formed April 1945 from the stellvertretenden Generalkommando X. Armeekorps.

Under:

1945 - April, Armee-Abteilung Blumentritt, Oberbefehlshaber Nordwest, Ems, Weser

Does anyone has the clue or other Sd with a special issue of camouflaged equipments for use as a sniper ?

Were snipers itends to be issued a camouflaged smock ? helmet cover ? camouflaged gloves ? etc ...
