    Translating a KM wherpass

    Hello

    I have a 2nd model Km wherpass

1 - does someone is able to translate the hand marks ? I just saw that he went to the Volksschule and someone told me he’s able to swim. (The first tree letters in the upper outer is sch or sdh)

2 - Is it possible that a Kriegsmarine men drafted 1940 for an office job in late 1940 to had no promotions till the end of the war ? he has a very low studies level and could be a basic clerck ...

3- There is no markings for his end of service , there is also no marks concerning the uniforms sizes, awards and promotions.

As a clerck in a quiet place in a HQ i guess they were not in a rush but the German amry is not known to be lazy ...

SO, did you ever went trough such way imcomplete or unfilled wherpass

    Thanks

Not uncommon for Wp's to have sections unfilled or incomplete. There could many reasons for that.

page 4 # 11 Kenntnisse in Fremdsprachen - knowledge in foreign languages: if this guy did not speak any foreign language normally position 11 should be free.

Section 12 is one of these damn hieroglyphic handwritings. It says sthg. with an "Ausbildung" which mesans some training on whatever. Coud be "Technikerausbildung " ,a special training for a technical job.
This dude was a mercantilistic clerk, but practised a job in judiciary service as a civilian.
This could have been almost everything from carrying around documents in a court to working in a prison.

          Section 12 means:
Sanitätsausbildung (D.R.K.) - Deutsches Rotes Kreuz - German Red Cross (they gave him the special paramedic training).

Freischwimmer - he is awarded a badge that testifies that he could swim 15 minutes.

-- N5420/40 ES -- is the soldier Stammrollnummer (not his Wehrnummer) i guess the ES means somehting special

Next to the mother name is a word i can read, you said "only his fathers job is mentioned" did you mean his mother jog is "unknown "?

someone told me the name is Schuhmacher, do you confirm ?

                Thanks all

                  1) On top of page 1 is written "Wehrnummer" - not Stammrollnummer.

                  2) His mother's professon is n o t given. It is her maiden name - Mädchenname - "Wahn", Her first name is Katharina.

                  3) Schuhmacher is the family name of all the members of his family (the soldier, his father and also his mother). It is also a professon (shoemaker) but here it is a family name.

                  4) His father died 1908 and his mother 1934.

Thanks Gerdan for your quick and sharp answers

Thanks to your informations i've been able to write down on a paper the Wp full German words understanding and its translation

I have further in this Wp his stammrollnummer and it's given as being "N5420/40 ES" as use to be the KM Erkennungsmarke stamps

I was wondering myself what ES could mean ... ?

I read "Wahn" as maiden name of his mother.
