    Hello,

    I am just wondering why the EK II was awarded by a Komp. Fuhrer of the 18. Pz. Div. while he never served in this division.

        Inf.Rgt. 338 was part of 208 Inf.Div. From February 1942 it was transferred from France to Russia and came under XXIV Armee Korps, 2 Panzerarmee, Heeresgruppe Mitte around Orel, as did 18 Pz.Div.

        So, Inf.Rgt. 338 was seconded to 18 Pz.Div. for a period of time or a particular battle where he was awarded his EK II. Not uncommon when different Divisons were in the same sector etc. and used in specific actions!
