    An 'enhanced' soldbuch?

What do you guys think? In my opinion this is a genuine soldbuch which has been 'enhanced' by the addition of some decorations.

Ok, so what don't i like about it? well the guy was posted to MAA 510 at Sandnessjoen that's fine but the unit to the best of my knowledge didn't do much in this very quiet sector unless it saw the odd air attack on passing coastal convoys so i see the marine artillerie and wound badge as being on shaky ground already. Next, the Lappland schild entry should read 20 armee not 9 armee not to mention tha fact that Sandnessjoen is well out of the area of the award. The EKII? i wouldn't really have a problem with it however the whole typed up awards list signed by a doctor seems odd and look at the stamp being used, it's inconsistent with the others. We've gone from the units normal stamp with the offending swas neatly removed and the whole name legible to a completely different stamp, illegible with the swas still present just scribbled over.

Now i could perhaps accept a typo with the Lappland schild entry but not if this guy was only at Sandnessjoen, for this to be correct i would want to see him having served with one of the MAA up in Finnmark\North Finland and then posted to Sandnessjoen after the retreat.

Of course i may be wrong but for me there's just enough doubt over these award entries for me to steer clear.

    Opinions?

    *edit* i just noticed the seller...nuff said*edit*

    Hi Simon,

A definite turkey....for an old thread on pasted in entries (in WP) see this...

Yo be honest I haven't seen any of these type of entries for the best part of two years. As regards the seller...well, I have had some good stuff from him (not from auctions) but would display the utmost caution - but then you have to do that with every dealer as none of them know much document faking. I honestly would say I've seen just as much faked stuff from more revered dealers as I have from from Lobenstein. Only people buy without question from those dealers...

    Cheers,
    Gary.

      Yes, complete garbage......

Always be careful with these type of "extra" pages....always check if the stamp belongs to a unit that he belonged to! This may not be always the case but it is a good start!

As Gary mentioned Mr. Lobenstein has had some "dodgy" stuff but I too have bought some decent items from him or through a friend from him......Also most dealers end up with some form of dodgy paperwork and again as mentioned no questions asked with these guys!?!?!?

The big give away for me is the bad writing...its modern! Also the stamp does not show the unit which is a bit of a concern when looking at these documents.....I can think of 4 such dodgy books at the moment with main line dealers that have similar writing and/or dodgy authorising stamps!

Shame, no Knight's Cross winner but an honest book that has been buggered around with!!!!

I picked up on the name because the last time i heard it on these forums was in connection with one of our Norwegian members who had bought a group of utter dross award docs from the guy.

If the thread has highlighted this kind of 'enhancing' of paperwork to some who haven't seen it before then it's served it's purpose.
