thanks, guys. what town or region is entered on the pic? was this unit in combat at all on the date shown? it says gefallene, common for a man killed due to enemy action.

Yes it says killed in action (died of wounds).

Can you read the place where he was killed? I have found info on this unit ,early war and at the end, but not for the dates listed on the scan.

It doesn't say the place:

Gefallen 18.11.1944 (Verstorbenen Verwundung)

Killed in action 18.11.1944 (died of wounds)
