This document belonged to an italian car mechanic who worke in Germyny during WWII (27 june 1941 - 15 nov 1944).

Every person working in Germany (also the Germans) had to possess such a document in which you could see all agencies where he worked and how long.

S.A. got nothing to do with the SA,it's just a kind of way how a firm is set up,like Ltd or GmbH.

The French abbreviation S. A. means eactly means "Société anonyme" - limited company/stock corporation.
The Garage Moderne, Metz was such a company.
