              Kosaken Soldbuch

Thank you very much for the photos. The Kosaks did use these too I believe, but they did have a seperate Soldbuch too written in Cyrillic and with word Kosaken written on cover. I can scan pics if anyone wants to see .

Oh. My. God. My mind has been officially blown.

I just got involved with a small group of reenactors who are devoted to the story of Kosaken that served in the Wehrmacht. Particularly, our unit is basing its history from men who started in Kosaken-Ersatz-Batallion 102 and ended up in 5. Don Kosaken Reiter-Regt.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been trying to reproduce a standard Heer Soldbuch as a Kosak volunteer might have been issued, but until I saw this post, I did not have much to refer to, except for other Heer Soldbücher. If there's any way you gentlemen could find the time, I would be so, so, so appreciative if you could share some more photos of these Soldbücher, especially the ones for "Kosaken-Heer."

As far as reenactors go, I'm pretty passionate about the small documents I carry, and I would be so stoked to have an opportunity to get my papers as correct as possible.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
