    SB Glider Pilot Entry Question

    Hello,
I have a Luftwaffe soldbuch to an experienced pilot who flew JU-52 floatplanes during the Norwegian Campaign at Bergen. Included amongst his medal entries is one for the Glider Badge but can anyone tell me if there was a different written entry if this was the military version of the badge or the civil version? (i.e. if it was the military version would it be written in the SB a different way to a civil award entry?)
I ask because the entry is for Sept 1944 and it is difficult to believe that the LW would still be training Glider pilots at this late stage of the war. And just after the award entry is what appears to be a C which I believe would indicate the civil award, as in the level of proficiency, but I can not determine if it is just a C or the first letter of another word. None of his unit postings would seem to indicate a glider unit.
    Any thoughts?

I don't know where you are seeing anything about glider pilot school. The guy spent his entire wartime career towing target sleeves for the Flakartillerie. The tow plane has engines. No gliders involved. Just back and forth with the sleeve so the Flak gunners can fire at it.

What is the guy's name, Robert Adam or Robert Adami?

Thanks for the replies. That's why I mentioned that none of the entries seemed to indicate a glider unit.
              His name is Robert Adam.

It's probably the Civilian Glider proficiency badge. That came in a,b, and c and was authorized to be worn on the Luftwaffe uniform.

As Jeff has mentioned, this could be mentioned in the Soldbuch however....obviously in your case not.

                    I saw this recently....from Mel?

Yes, I bought it from Mel about a month ago when it was listed on an update.
