      Fliegerhorstkommandantur E 40/XIII operated the Luftwaffe airfield at Mont de Marsan from late 1940/early 1941 to late July/early August 1944. Approximately 1 June 1944 it was renumbered from E 40/XIII to E(v) 235/XII. The "(W)", I believe, means he belonged to the Werft-Kp. Every Fliegerhorstkommandantur had a Werft-Kp. that was responsible for the servicing of aircraft that landed and departed. The Werft-Kp. also did minor repair work on aircraft. Fliegerhorstkommandantur E(v) 235/XII belonged to the mass of German troops that retreated from southwestern France in August 1944 and were no more than remnants by the time they reached the German border. E(v) 235/XII was officially disbanded in October 1944.
