    Late War WSS Soldbuch Question

This book looks like he joined in 1945, but there's entries from hospital time in 1944. Can anyone help explain how i'm reading this wrong?

    Regards, Robert

I dont see any problem with your Soldbuch. This guy was enlisted on january 5th 1945 at 3./SS-Pionier-Ausb. Btl. 3. 2 days later in went to Feldlazarett in Glatz for Gonorrhea. At the Beginnig of 1945, SS-Pionier-Ausb. und Ers. Btl. 3 (It's the reel name at this time) changed is location from Krakau to Prag (Glatz is exatly on the middle way between these 2 cities). About the early date in the Soldbuch, I'm thinking that this guy was just enlisted before in an other unit, just a opinion...

The post in #7 is a security check and has nothing to do with the hospital. Although not by regulation, many soldbuch appear to have this security check place in the book if they are issued (notice the date is and signature is the same as the issue date) after the last required security check on Sept. 1, 1944. Therfore, I believe it's just a clerical error and that it should be 1945 not 1944.

Gonorrhea? That would sure explain his expression in the photo. They must have caight it during induction medical inspection. Jungco, clerical error sounds about right, especially given the state of affairs in spring of 1945.

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to respond. regards, Robert

I agree with Jungo about post 7. But about post 8, the datation is december 1944 for the rank solde number. I think that this guy was enlisted at this timeand the Soldbuch was make latter.
