Question about KM Soldbuch

During a sailing mission in a ship are the Kriegsmarine sailers got there Soldbuch "on bord" or the document stay in the harbor ?

Depends on the vessel, large or small.

An U-Boatcrewmember's Soldbuch was left at the base and never taken onboard.

S-Bootfahrer and K-Verband units left their Soldbuch in port too.

I think all sea faring Kriegsmarine left their Soldbuch on land, likewise so did Luftwaffe aircrew.

I did hear that they left it in their locker but I would have thought perhaps with the unit admin office!

I believe Luftwaffe air crew personel were aloud to carry their Soldbuch if the flight was over Germany.
