From the first scan: he went through a medics course and passed on 6 Jan 43. He was awarded the EK2 and (I believe) the nahkampfspange. Also passed a course in protection from gas in early '44.

Second scan: promotions to Gefreiter and Unteroffizier, as well as to Sanitaets (medical) gefreiter and then unteroffizier. Other page in that scan also shows Inf. Sturmabz. in Silver and EK 1st class.
